Peach County, Georgia
Love the name? Peach County delivers on its sweet promise. Right in the middle of Georgia, this small county packs a flavorful punch. The Georgia Peach Festival each June paints the town… well, peach.
Don’t let its size fool you. Peach County’s been around only since 1924, making it one of Georgia’s youngest. The Lane Southern Orchards draw visitors year-round, offering a taste of the county’s namesake fruit.
Fort Valley is the county seat and is filled with agricultural might. You’ll find a mix of farmland and academia here with Fort Valley State University. But my highlight for Peach County is this tasty fruit. This includes Byron’s famous peach-shaped, unfortunately now gone.
