Madison County, Kentucky

Madison County is in central Kentucky and is home to Richmond and a bunch of history. Berea, the “Folk Arts Capital,” is where you go if you want to see a chair being hand-carved.
The county has a big college scene because of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. But keep an eye out for stressed students during finals week.
There’s Fort Boonesborough located in the north, if you’re into frontier life. Fort Boonesborough State Park is where Daniel Boone’s settlement once stood.
