Tensas Parish, Louisiana

Tensas Parish is in northeastern Louisiana, bordering the Mississippi River. This rural area is steeped in history. Once home to Native American mounds, it later became cotton country.
The parish was named after the Tensas tribe. Locals fish in Lake Bruin and hunt in the sprawling hardwood forests. Unfortunately, its population has dwindled over the years.
Agriculture still dominates the economy. You won’t find big cities here. Just small towns with friendly folks and a slower pace of life.
