Washington County Map, Illinois

Washington County is in southern Illinois and it’s pure heartland. It’s the kind of place where you can hear a train whistle miles away.

Wayne County sits in the southeastern part of Illinois. Fairfield, the county seat, is about as small-town America as you can get.

White County sits in the southeastern corner of Illinois, against the Wabash River. Carmi is the county seat, a town with a lot of history.

Whiteside County stretches along the Mississippi River in northwestern Illinois. Morrison is the county seat, a town with a grand courthouse.

Will County sits on the edge of the Chicago metro area. Joliet is the county seat. This gritty river town is really trying to reinvent itself.

Williamson County sits in southern Illinois, about as far from Chicago as you can get and still be in the state. Marion is the county seat.

Winnebago County sits in northern Illinois, right up against the Wisconsin border. Rockford is the county seat and a highly populated city.

Woodford County stretches along the Illinois River, just east of Peoria. Eureka is the county seat, located in the southwest of the county.

Adams County sits in the northeastern corner of Indiana, bordering Ohio. Decatur, the county seat, is the largest city.

Allen County is the largest county in northeastern Indiana. Fort Wayne is the state’s second-biggest city and is the heart of this county.

Bartholomew County sits in south-central Indiana. Columbus is its county seat, located in the center of the county.

Benton County sits in the northwest corner of Indiana, bordering Illinois. The county seat is Fowler, a small town located in the center.

Blackford County is a small slice of rural Indiana, located in the east-central part of the state. Hartford City serves as the county seat.

Boone County is right in the heart of Indiana. It’s just northwest of Indianapolis, close enough to commute. Lebanon is the county seat.

Brown County is Indiana’s fall color capital. It’s in the south-central part of the state, about an hour from Indianapolis.
