US Counties

Jay County sits right on Indiana’s eastern border with Ohio. Portland is the county seat and is located right in the middle of the county.

Jefferson County hugs the Ohio River in southeast Indiana. Madison, the county seat, is the star of the show here with its historic district.

Jennings County is in southeast Indiana. North Vernon is the county seat with the Muscatatuck River cutting through the county.

Johnson County sits just south of Indianapolis. Greenwood, on the north end, is basically an extension of Indy. Franklin is the county seat.

Knox County sits in southwest Indiana, right on the Wabash River. Vincennes, the county seat, is the star of the show here.

Kosciusko County is in the middle of northern Indiana, known as the land of lakes. Warsaw is the county seat, located in the center.

LaGrange County sits in the northeast corner of Indiana, against the Michigan border. The area is known for its large Amish population. 

Lake County sits right on Lake Michigan. Hammond and East Chicago give its industrial muscle. You’ve got swanky suburbs like Munster.

LaPorte County straddles the line between Indiana farmland and Chicago’s orbit. You’ll find a mix of industry, agriculture, and tourism here.

Lawrence County sits in south-central Indiana, where the flat farmlands start to give way to hills and forests. Bedford is the county seat.

Madison County is located northeast of Indianapolis. This county is a hardworking piece of Indiana with Anderson as the county seat.

Marion County is the heart of Indiana, home to Indianapolis. The city is known for its sports teams, from the Colts to the Pacers.

Marshall County sits in north-central Indiana. Plymouth is the county seat and has that classic Midwest feel with its courthouse square.

Martin County is located in southwest Indiana. It’s where Hoosier farmland meets the hills of the Hoosier National Forest.

Miami County sits in north-central Indiana. Mississinewa Lake is fun to explore. Peru, the county seat, is the “Circus Capital of the World”.
