Jefferson County, Indiana

Jefferson County hugs the Ohio River in southeast Indiana. Madison, the county seat, is the star of the show here with its beautifully preserved historic district.
Hanover College sits on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River, giving the area a bit of a college town vibe. Summers are humid for the Madison Regatta hydroplane.
Come to Clifty Falls State Park for hiking trails and waterfalls. You’ll also find some surprisingly good wineries throughout the county. It’s not a far road trip to Louisville, Kentucky either.
