Monroe County feels like the cultural heart of southern Indiana. Bloomington, the county seat, is home to Indiana University.

Montgomery County sits in west-central Indiana. You’ll find a mix of old and new here, including a historic downtown in Crawfordsville.

Morgan County sits just southwest of Indianapolis. The county is hilly, especially in the south where it bumps up against Brown County.

Owen County sits in the south-central part of the state of Indiana. Spencer is the county seat and sits along the White River.

Parke County sits in the west of Indiana. Dubbed the “Covered Bridge Capital of the World,” this western Indiana county boasts 31 structures.

Perry County is located in southern Indiana along the Ohio River. It has more hills and forests than usual in the Hoosier State.

Pike County sits in southwest Indiana with Petersburg as the county seat. Coal mining shaped a lot of the area’s history that you can see now.

Porter County is located in northwest Indiana, along the shores of Lake Michigan. The Indiana Dunes National Park is the county’s jewel.

Posey County sits in the extreme southwest corner of Indiana. This county is about as far from Indianapolis and still be in Indiana.

Pulaski County is located in the middle of northern Indiana with Winamac as the county seat. It’s one of the least populous counties.

Putnam County is in the west-central part of the state. The county is a part bedroom community for Indianapolis, part pure rural Indiana.
