US Counties

Fremont County, located in the far southwestern corner of Iowa, borders both Nebraska and Missouri. Sidney is the county seat.

Greene County rolls across central Iowa. Jefferson, the county seat, boasts an incredible bell tower. The population is around 9,000 people.

Hancock County is located in north-central Iowa and is shaped as almost a perfect square. It’s anchored by Garner, its county seat.

Located in central Iowa, Hardin County is bisected by the Iowa River. The county is home to Iowa Falls, a town that hugs the Iowa River.

Harrison County is in western Iowa and it’s known for the scenic Loess Hills and the Missouri River. It’s next to Nebraska to the west.

Situated in southeast Iowa, Henry County is home to Mount Pleasant, the county seat. Iowa Wesleyan University is located here.

Howard County is located in the northeast corner of Iowa, bordering Minnesota. The Turkey River is a prominent geographical feature.

Humboldt County is situated in north-central Iowa. It’s a rural area with Humboldt as its county seat. The area is known for its agriculture.

Western Iowa’s Ida County is about as rectangular as counties come. The county seat, Ida Grove, has lots castle-like architecture.

Right in the middle of eastern Iowa, Iowa County shares its name with the state. It’s a spot where small towns and rolling farmland meet.

Jackson County is in eastern Iowa and hugs the Mississippi River. Maquoketa, the county seat, is named after the river that runs through it.

Jasper County is where the city meets the country. Newton is the county seat. It was once the “Washing Machine Capital of the World”.

Jefferson County is in southeastern Iowa. It’s home to Fairfield, a unique city that’s located in the center of the county.
