Camden County, Georgia

Camden County stretches across Georgia’s southeast corner, hugging the Florida border. It has a chunk of coastline, including Cumberland Island National Seashore. Woodbine serves as the county seat, though St. Marys is the bigger draw.
Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay is here, bringing in jobs and a diverse population. The county is named after Charles Pratt, Earl of Camden, a British supporter of American independence. Three rivers, including the Satilla, the St. Marys, and the Crooked, crisscross the area.
Fishing is a popular pastime, both freshwater and saltwater. Camden County is a mix of military precision and laid-back coastal living. It’s not your typical Georgia county. You’ve got submarines, wild horses on Cumberland Island, and some of the best shrimp you’ll ever taste.
