Columbia County, Georgia
Columbia County is just northwest of Augusta. It’s where the suburbs sprawl and the American Dream is alive and well. The legal county seat is Appling, but the de facto seat of county government is Evans.
These days, it’s all about growth. New subdivisions pop up like mushrooms after rain. Good schools and low crime rates draw folks from all over. The Savannah River forms the eastern border but Clarks Hill Lake is a big draw too.
Columbia County is definitely changing fast. It’s not the rural outpost it once was. Now it’s all about good schools, nice homes, and easy commutes to Augusta. You’ve got your military families from Fort Gordon and folks looking for a quiet life with city amenities. Columbia County is the kind of place where soccer moms and golf dads feel right at home.
