DeKalb County, Tennessee

DeKalb County sits in the heart of Middle Tennessee. It’s where history and natural beauty collide. The county’s named after Revolutionary War hero Johann de Kalb.
Smithville is the county seat. But Center Hill Lake draws folks from all over for fishing and boating. There’s even a yearly Fiddlers’ Jamboree that brings in musicians from across the country. The Appalachian Mountains start to rise here, giving the landscape a rugged charm.
Farming’s still a big deal, with nurseries and orchards dotting the countryside. DeKalb has a slower pace of life, but that’s part of its appeal. It’s the kind of place where you can breathe easy and enjoy the simple things.
