Edwards County, Texas

Edwards County is Texas Hill Country at its wildest. It’s about two hours west of San Antonio, but it feels a world away. Rocksprings is the only real town. Population? Less than a thousand.
The rest is ranch land. Miles and miles of it. This is some of the best hunting country in Texas. Deer, turkey, you name it. The Devil’s Sinkhole is the county’s claim to fame. It’s home to millions of Mexican free-tailed bats.
Quite a sight at sunset. Winters can be harsh. Summers? Scorching. But spring brings wildflowers and fall’s just about perfect. It’s not an easy place to live. But for some, it’s paradise.
