Foster County is right in the middle of eastern North Dakota. A patchwork of farms and small towns is this county in a nutshell. Carrington is the biggest place and county seat.

Agriculture is king here. Wheat, soybeans, and sunflowers dominate the landscape. The county is named after named after George I. Foster, a pioneer and member of the Territorial legislature.

The Pipestem Creek meanders through the county, which is a tributary of the mighty James River. People here are proud of their pioneer heritage. You can still see it in how they tackle challenges head-on.
