Franklin County sits in the southeast corner of Indiana, right up against the Ohio border. You’ll find a mix of farmland and forests here, with some surprisingly hilly terrain.
Brookville is the county seat and is known for its downtown area and the twin Brookville lakes nearby. The Whitewater River runs through the county, making it a hotspot for canoeists and kayakers.
Metamora is a restored canal town. This area brings in a lot of tourists with its working grist mill and shops. It’s mostly rural, but close enough to Cincinnati for an easy day trip.
