Goliad County, Texas

History echoes through every corner of Goliad County. It’s in South Texas, not far from the Gulf Coast. Goliad State Park is a great place to soak in all that history. But it’s not all about the past. Ranching is still a way of life here.
This place played a big role in Texas’ fight for independence. Ever heard “Remember the Alamo”? Well, folks here say “Remember Goliad” too. The old Presidio La Bahía still stands guard over the San Antonio River.
The county’s small, but it packs in a lot of natural beauty. Live oaks draped with Spanish moss line the roads. Wildlife is abundant such as deer, wild turkeys, even the occasional alligator. The people are friendly, the pace is slow, and BBQ is practically a religion.
