Grimes County, Texas

The Brazos River Valley is home to Grimes County. It’s right between Houston and College Station. Anderson, the county seat, is known for its beautiful bluebonnet fields in spring. It’s a piece of rural Texas that’s holding onto its identity.
Navasota, the largest city, calls itself the “Blues Capital of Texas” because of its lively music scene. People here are proud of their roots. The Texas Renaissance Festival, held each fall in Todd Mission, draws huge crowds.
Farming and ranching are still important here. You’ll see plenty of cattle grazing in green pastures. The county has a rich history, too. It was named after Jesse Grimes, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
