Madison County, Texas

Madison County is a piece of the Piney Woods region in east-central Texas. It’s green here, real green. The county seat, Madisonville, sits right at the crossroads of Highway 21 and Interstate 45.
Folks here are proud of their history. The county was founded back in 1853. Cattle ranching is still big business. You can see longhorns grazing in pastures all over.
Lake Madison is also a local favorite for fishing and boating. The Texas Mushroom Festival brings in crowds from all over the state. The area has a slow, easy pace of life. People take the time to stop and chat. And the barbecue? Some of the best you’ll find in Texas.
