Haskell County, Texas

Haskell County sits in the Rolling Plains of North Texas. It’s named after Charles Haskell, who died fighting for Texas independence. The county seat shares its name.
This is farm country, with cotton and wheat fields stretching to the horizon. Oil has played a big role here too. The population’s been shrinking for years. But the folks who stay are proud of their home.
They work hard. They value community. The Salt Fork Brazos River cuts through the county. Lake Stamford is the biggest lake by a mile. Fishing is pretty good there. Small-town festivals bring people together.
