Irwin County, Georgia
Irwin County sits in the heart of south Georgia, about 180 miles south of Atlanta. It’s a place where pecan orchards and cotton fields stretch far. The county seat is Ocilla, located at US Highways 129 and 319.
Locals pride themselves on their Southern hospitality and down-home cooking. You’ll find some of the best barbecue and peach cobbler around here. Irwin County’s history runs deep, dating back to 1818 when it was carved out of Creek Indian lands.
The Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site brings in people from all over. There’s lots of fishing and hunting here. But the county isn’t stuck in the past. It’s a place where tradition meets progress, and everyone knows your name.
