Tift County, Georgia

Tift Location Map Georgia

Tift County sits in the heart of south Georgia, about 180 miles south of Atlanta. Tifton, the county seat, earned the nickname “The Friendly City” for good reason. People here know their neighbors and are not afraid to give a helping hand.

It’s a place where agriculture thrives and community bonds run deep. The county’s rich soil has long supported crops like cotton, peanuts, and tobacco. But it’s not all farmland in this county.

The University of Georgia’s Tifton campus is here too. Locals love to cool off at Paradise Public Fishing Area during sweltering summer days. You’ll find some of the best barbecue in Georgia here, if you know where to look. It’s the largest farm show in North America.
