When you think of Jeff Davis County, think small-town Georgia at its finest. It’s tucked away in the southeastern part of the state, about halfway between Savannah and Valdosta. Hazlehurst, the county seat, is the heart of it all.
This place is as Southern as sweet tea on a hot summer day. Farming like tobacco, cotton, and blueberries happen here. While the Ocmulgee River runs along its western border, the Altamaha River forms the northern border.
You’ll find plenty of folks here who can trace their roots back generations. The annual BBQ and Bluegrass Festival bring excitement here.
