Montgomery County, Georgia
Montgomery County is in southeast Georgia. This small county has more history than you might expect. It was carved out back in 1793, named after a Revolutionary War hero.
Mount Vernon is the county seat and sits pretty on the banks of the Oconee River. You’ll find moss-draped oaks and winding waterways perfect for kayaking.
Agriculture still rules the roost here with timber and row crops. The annual Montgomery County Fair brings the whole community together each fall. Brewton-Parker College adds a dash of youthful energy to the area.
