Toombs County, Georgia

Toombs County is located in the southeastern part of the state. It’s about halfway between Macon and Savannah. Lyons is the county seat, but Vidalia is world-famous for its sweet onions.
The Altamaha River forms its southern border. Small towns like Lyons and Santa Claus (yes, really) cover the landscape, each with its own quirks.
The county’s history runs deep, from Native American settlements to Civil War skirmishes. Today, agriculture still drives the economy, but there’s a growing arts scene too. Despite its size, Toombs County proves that good things come in small packages.
