Merrick County, Nebraska

Central Nebraska is home to Merrick County. The Platte River runs right through it, along the eastern border. Central City is the county seat but it’s not much of a city, really. It’s more like a big town.
Farming’s the big deal here, with corn and soybean crops mostly. But there’s some cattle too. The county’s got a bit of everything – flat river valleys, rolling hills. It’s pretty, in that quiet Nebraska way.
Folks here are friendly, but they keep to themselves. They’re used to making their own fun like at the county fair. It’s an event where basically everyone turns up.
