Monroe County sits in the southeastern corner of Tennessee, right up against the North Carolina border. It has a little bit of everything. Mountains in the east, lakes in the west.
Tellico Lake’s a big draw for folks who love the water. Madisonville is the county seat. It has this nice little downtown. You’d swear you stepped back in time. The Cherokee National Forest occupies a good chunk of the southeast.
Visitors might dig Fort Loudoun State Park. It played a role in the French and Indian War. The county’s known for its dairy farms. You’ll see plenty of cows grazing as you drive around. It’s a pretty place. The kind that makes you want to slow down and stay a while.
