Rusk County, Wisconsin

The Chippewa River cuts through Rusk County in northwest Wisconsin. It’s logging country, with a history steeped in the timber industry. Ladysmith, the county seat, was rebuilt after a devastating tornado in 2002.
The Blue Hills in the western part of the county offer some great hiking trails. Rusk County has its share of lakes and streams, making it popular with anglers.
Winters here are no joke. But snowmobiling is a way of life for many. The county fair each summer brings the whole community together. You’ll find a mix of dairy farms and forests.
