Buffalo County, Wisconsin

Buffalo County is right along the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin. Rolling hills and limestone bluffs make up the landscape. It’s farm country here.
Alma is the county seat. It’s known for its locks and dams. Locals say the deer and walleye are always biting. Just walleye, of course. I’ve never seen a biting deer.
You won’t find any big cities, just small towns where everybody waves as you drive by. The Driftless Area’s unique topography makes this place feel different from the rest of Wisconsin. Life moves a little slower in Buffalo County.
