Texas County, Oklahoma

Texas County is way out there in the Oklahoma Panhandle. You’re not going to believe which state it borders… Yep, you guessed it Texas is to the south. Kansas is to the north and Colorado is to the northwest.
Guymon, the county seat, is the only real city around. This place is all about agriculture and energy. Wheat fields are everywhere. Wind turbines too. It’s dry here. Really dry. But when it rains, watch out for flash floods.
The county is huge. In fact, it’s one of the largest in Oklahoma. Driving across it takes a while. During winters, blizzards sweep across the plains. Summers? Hot and windy. Despite the harsh conditions, people here are tough and friendly. They have to be.
