Seward County is down in the southwest corner of Kansas, with Liberal as its main city. It has a mix of farmland and some industry.
Liberal’s claim to fame is being the official home of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. They have a whole tourist thing going on with that.
There’s a lot of beef processing and natural gas production here. U.S. Highway 54 runs through, making it the main artery of the region. Liberal is home to the annual Pancake Day race, a quirky event that adds a bit of fun to the area.
