Thomas County is located in southwest Georgia, along the Florida border. It was established in 1825 and now has a population of around 45,000 residents. Agriculture plays a significant role in the local economy.
Thomasville serves as the county seat and largest city. It’s nicknamed the “City of Roses” and hosts an annual Rose Festival.
The county is also home to Thomas University, a private institution with undergraduate and graduate programs. Finally, Lapham-Patterson House is a National Historic Landmark.
