Treutlen County, Georgia
Treutlen County is one of Georgia’s smaller counties, both in size and population. It sits in the east-central part of the state, not far from the Oconee National Forest. Soperton, the county seat, is the only incorporated city.
Farming is common here. Think crops like soybeans, cotton, and peanuts. The county got its name from John A. Treutlen, Georgia’s first elected governor.
Locals gather in Soperton on weekends for community events. The annual Million Pines Arts and Crafts Festival draws visitors from all over. Treutlen County doesn’t make a lot of noise, but it has heart.
