US Counties

Cleveland County is right in the middle of Oklahoma. It’s part of the Oklahoma City metro area with Norman as the county seat.

Coal County is tucked away in the southeastern part of Oklahoma. As you might guess from the name, coal mining used to be big here.

Comanche County sits in southwestern Oklahoma, where the plains meet the Wichita Mountains. It’s a place of surprising contrasts.

Cotton County sits in the southwestern corner of Oklahoma, bordering Texas. It’s named after the crop that once dominated the local economy.

Craig County is in northeastern Oklahoma, bordering Kansas. Vinita, the county seat, is known as America’s first “Electric City”.

Creek County is just southwest of Tulsa. It’s named after the Creek tribe in 1907. The terrain is a mix of rolling hills and prairies.

Custer County is located in western Oklahoma. It’s named after General George Custer. Weatherford is the largest city in the county.

Delaware County occupies the northeast corner of Oklahoma. Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees dominates the landscape.

Dewey County is in the western part of Oklahoma. It’s mostly prairie land, with gently rolling hills and vast open spaces.

The northwest corner of Oklahoma is home to Ellis County, next to Texas. Wide open spaces define this place. It’s cattle country.

Garfield County is in the north-central part of Oklahoma. Enid is the county seat. It’s the heartbeat of this place.

Garvin County is right in the heart of Oklahoma. It’s a place of contrasts, with rolling hills in the east and flatlands in the west.

Located in central Oklahoma, Grady County is rural and suburban growth. Chickasha is the county seat and is famous for its Festival of Light.

Grant County is up in north-central Oklahoma. It’s flat here with wheat fields a common sight. Medford is the county seat.

Greer County is tucked away in southwestern Oklahoma. It used to be part of Texas, if you can believe it. Mangum is the county seat.
