Warren County, Georgia

Warren County is a small, quiet corner of eastern Georgia. It’s about halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, off the beaten path. Warrenton is the county seat, which is named after Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War hero.
The Ogeechee River runs along its western border, popular with kayakers and fishermen. Locals gather on Main Street in Warrenton for gossip. Fall brings the Sportsmans Festival, a bright spot in the year.
The old jail in Warrenton is now a museum, telling the county’s story. The historic downtown Warrenton is a window into the past. Although the population’s been shrinking for years, don’t count Warren out just yet.
