Warrick County, Indiana
Warrick County sits in the southwestern corner of Indiana, right along the Ohio River. Boonville is the county seat, which is a mix of small-town and growing suburbs.
The county’s eastern edge brushes against Evansville, Indiana’s third-largest city. Coal mining shaped much of Warrick’s past, and remnants of this history are everywhere on the landscape. Newburgh, perched on the Ohio River, brings in visitors with its historic downtown.
Cypress swamps in the south give a unique ecosystem for wildlife lovers. Warrick County’s population has boomed in recent decades. But subdivisions now occupy part of the land that was once farmland.
