Bond County is in south-central Illinois. Greenville, the county seat, is a small, friendly town. Greenville College brings a bit of youthful energy. It’s a private Christian school.
Bond County Farm Bureau is the largest agriculture organization in the county. Corn and soybeans are common crops. That’s a big deal for farmers as old barns and silos cover the countryside.
Bond County is rural Illinois. The county is mostly flat farmland with some rolling hills. But the Kaskaskia River cuts through the western part. Carlyle Lake is also nearby, popular for fishing and boating.
