Bonneville County, Idaho
Bonneville County is eastern Idaho’s urban hub, anchored by Idaho Falls. The Snake River runs through town, with a scenic greenbelt and that famous waterfall. It’s a jumping-off point for Yellowstone trips.
The Idaho National Laboratory nearby brings in an educated workforce. You’ll see a mix of cowboy hats and lab coats around town. The county stretches from farmland to high mountain peaks. Outdoor recreation is huge. Skiing at Kelly Canyon, fishing on the South Fork, hiking in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
Mormon influence is quite strong here compared to other counties. You’ll see a lot of big families and fewer bars than you might expect. Potatoes are still king in the rural parts. Idaho Falls is booming, with new subdivisions popping up like weeds.
