Bryan County, Georgia
Bryan County hugs the Georgia coast, just south of Savannah. It’s split in two by Fort Stewart, making for an odd shape on the map. Pembroke is the county seat, but Richmond Hill is the most populous city.
The Ogeechee River forms its eastern border, which drains into the Atlantic Ocean. Henry Ford left his mark here, building a winter home and investing in the area.
The county is named after Jonathan Bryan, a Revolutionary War patriot. It’s a place of contrasts. You’ve got rural farmland in the north and ritzy coastal communities in the south. Bryan County is growing fast, as folks seek a quieter life near Savannah.
