Callahan County, Texas

Callahan County sits west of Abilene. It’s where the West Texas oil patch meets the Rolling Plains. Baird is the county seat, a little town with a lot of character.
The county is named after James Callahan, a Texas Revolution hero. Ranching is still big here, but oil is king now. The wind never seems to stop blowing.
There’s not much to do, but people like it that way. The sunsets are spectacular. And the people? They work hard and look out for each other. That’s just the Callahan County way.
