Coffey County sits in east-central Kansas, with about 8,500 folks calling it home. It’s known for Wolf Creek, the state’s nuclear power plant.

Comanche County is tucked away in south-central Kansas. It’s one of the least populated counties in the state with only about 1,700 residents.

Cowley County stretches across south-central Kansas. Winfield and Arkansas City are the big towns, always trying to outdo each other.

Crawford County sits in the southeast corner of Kansas. Pittsburgh is the big city, home to Pitt State University. Girard is the county seat.

Decatur County is way up in the northwest corner of Kansas. It’s spread across its High Plains landscape. It’s a perfect square of a county.

Dickinson County is in the middle of Kansas, across its rolling plains. Abilene is the county seat and boyhood home of President Eisenhower.

Doniphan County clings to the northeast corner of Kansas, with the Missouri River forming its eastern border. The county seat is Troy.

Douglas County is in the eastern part of Kansas with about 120,000 residents. It’s where you’ll find Lawrence and the University of Kansas.

Edwards County stretches across south-central Kansas. Kinsley, the county seat is exactly halfway between New York and San Francisco.

Elk County nestles in the Flint Hills of southeast Kansas with only about 2,500 residents. It’s ranching country, with more cattle than people.

Perched in northwest Kansas, Ellis County is where the Old West meets college town vibes. Hays is the biggest city and county seat.

In the middle of Kansas, Ellsworth County is pure prairie. The town of Ellsworth used to be a wild cowtown, now it’s laid-back country living.

Way out in southwest Kansas, Finney County is a mix of wide-open spaces and surprisingly urban spots. Garden City is the county seat.

Ford County sits in southwest Kansas, famous for its cowtown history and wind farms. Dodge City still plays up its Wild West past.

Just southwest of Kansas City metro area, Franklin County is where the suburbs fade into farmland. Ottawa is the county seat.
