Cowley County, Kansas
Cowley County stretches across south-central Kansas. It’s home to about 35,000 people. Winfield and Arkansas City are the big towns, always trying to outdo each other.
The Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield draws bluegrass fans from all over every September. And if you’re feeling lucky, head to the Kanza Casino just south of Arkansas City.
If you’re into architecture, check out the stone arch bridges scattered around the county. I think they’re pretty impressive. Arkansas City has a bit of everything, from a waterpark to a prehistoric Indian village.
