Franklin County, Kansas
Just southwest of Kansas City, Franklin County is where the suburbs fade into farmland. Ottawa is the county seat and has about 12,000 people.
The Old Depot Museum is cooler than it sounds, trust me. Every June, the Power of the Past Antique Engine & Tractor Show draws gear-heads from all over.
If you’re into the outdoors, Pomona State Park is great for camping and fishing, just slightly to the west. Franklin County, is just south of the Kansas City metro area with access to all the big city amenities.
