Chambers County, Texas

Chambers County hugs the Gulf Coast just east of Houston. It’s where the prairie meets the sea. If you’re into oil, well, there’s plenty of that too. Just offshore, you can see the rigs on the horizon.
Anahuac is the county seat and is known as the “Alligator Capital of Texas”. Yeah, you read that right. Gators are a big deal here. This makes Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge is a must-visit.
The county has a bit of everything. It has beaches, marshes, and farmland. Fishermen love it. So do bird watchers because it’s on a major migration route. Visitors will also dig the Chambers County Museum.
