Clay County, Nebraska

Clay County is located in the south-central part of Nebraska, with Clay Center as the county seat. It’s named after Henry Clay, the famous statesman.
But don’t let the name fool you, it’s a pretty small place. The landscape here is mostly flat farmland, growing corn, soybeans, etc. But it’s not all agriculture.
The county’s also home to a massive railway yard. Birdwatchers might enjoy the spring migration. You can see all sorts of waterfowl in the local wetlands. It’s not a tourist hotspot, but for folks who appreciate small-town life and wide-open spaces, Clay County’s got it.
