Nuckolls County, Nebraska

Nuckolls Location Map Nebraska

Nuckolls County is in down in south-central Nebraska, located right on the Kansas border. Superior is the biggest town but Nelson is the county seat.

Agriculture is the backbone of the economy. Corn, wheat, cattle are most common. The landscape is a mix of flat river valleys and rolling hills. The Republican River runs through here so it creates some nice spots for fishing and camping.

It’s pretty, in that quiet prairie way. The population’s been shrinking for years. Young folks tend to leave for the cities. But those who stay are deeply attached to the land. It’s been in their families for generations.
