Cleburne County is in north-central Arkansas. It’s synonymous with Greers Ferry Lake. This massive reservoir draws tourists from all over for boating, fishing, and swimming.
Heber Springs, the county seat, swells with visitors during summer months. The Little Red River is a trout fishing paradise. Sugarloaf Mountain, an island in the lake, has hiking trails with stunning views.
Cleburne County isn’t just about water sports though. The Sugarloaf Heritage Council hosts an excellent fine arts festival each spring. For the adventurous, there’s the annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races. Yes, you read that right.
