Arkansas County, Arkansas

Arkansas County is where the state began. Literally, it’s the oldest county in Arkansas. With a population of around 17,000, Arkansas County isn’t a metropolis, but it has plenty of heart.
Located in the southeastern part of the state, Arkansas County is split into two separate regions. First, Stuttgart is in the north. Secondly, DeWitt is in the south.
Duck hunting is big here, especially in Stuttgart. In fact, it’s known as the “Rice and Duck Capital of the World”. Speaking of rice, this county grows a lot of it. The Arkansas Post National Memorial marks the first European settlement in the lower Mississippi Valley.
