Collingsworth County, Texas

Collingsworth County is way up in the Texas Panhandle. It’s on the east side, bordering Oklahoma. Cotton is king here. But the land is also covered with wind turbines these days.
It’s flat. Really flat. Wellington is the county seat, home to about 2,000 people. Summers are scorching, winters are bitter. But spring? It’s beautiful.
The Salt Fork Red River runs through the county. Locals say it’s some of the best catfishing around. There’s not much nightlife, but the stars are something else. It’s quiet. Sometimes too quiet for city folks. But for those who call it home, it’s just right.
