Delta County is tucked away in Northeast Texas. It got its name from its triangle shape, formed by the North Sulphur and South Sulphur Rivers. Cooper is the county seat in the center of the county.
This is farm country, plain and simple. They grow corn, wheat, soybeans, and other crops. But it’s not all work and no play. The Cooper Lake State Park is perfect for fishing, boating, and hiking. Delta County has deep roots.
Some families have been here for generations. You can feel the history in places like Ben Franklin and Pecan Gap. The county fair’s a big deal around here. If you’re passing through, keep an eye out for historical markers. This place has seen its share of Texas history.
