Fisher County, Texas

Fisher County is out in West Texas, where the land flattens out. It’s cattle country. Always has been. Roby, the county seat, is a small town with a big heart.
Oil was discovered here in the 1960s, changing the county’s fortunes. These days, wind turbines cover the landscape alongside oil pumps. It’s old and new Texas, side by side.
Several rivers cuts through the county, providing much-needed water. The county is named after Samuel Rhoads Fisher, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. History runs deep here. It’s where the sky feels bigger somehow.
