Hudspeth County, Texas

Hudspeth County hugs the US-Mexico border in far West Texas. It’s big, over 4,500 square miles. But only about 3,000 people call it home.
Sierra Blanca is the county seat. You’ll see a lot of desert and mountains here. The Guadalupe Mountains National Park is partly in Hudspeth. Ranching is still important to the local economy.
It’s the kind of place where you might spot a roadrunner. Or a javelina. The night sky is something else. Stars for days. Winters can get chilly. It’s about as “out there” as Texas gets.
